Three adults and five children were rescued from a stranded boat in the Delaware River Monday afternoon.
The incident began at about 3:30 p.m. near Duck Island, which is located between Chester, Pa. and the New Jersey side of the river.
The 21-foot recreation boat apparently ran aground on rocks near a jetty, causing it to stall.
Crews quickly arrived at the scene and safely placed the eight people into rescue boats.
The eight were then taken to the Raccoon Creek Boat Club in Bridgeport, New Jersey.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
